Alumni Spotlight: Noah Bickford

The Alumni Spotlight Series is Milton Magic FC’s way of celebrating the incredible journeys of our past players who have gone on to achieve remarkable milestones in their soccer careers and beyond. These stories highlight the passion, dedication, and community spirit that define our club. Each feature will showcase an inspiring athlete’s path, their triumphs and challenges, and the lessons they’ve learned along the way.

Through these spotlights, we aim to inspire current players and remind them that with determination, perseverance, and the support of the Milton Magic FC family, anything is possible. Stay tuned as we shine a light on the achievements of our alumni and celebrate their ongoing connection to our club!

Noah Bickford: Building a Legacy from Milton to NCAA D1

Noah Bickford’s journey with Milton Magic FC began back in 2009, when he joined the U5 House League program. Over the next decade, Noah developed into one of the club’s most reliable and decorated players—anchoring the backline as a central defender and helping lead his team to three Ontario Cup titles at the U14, U15, and U17 levels.

From a young age, Noah’s presence on the field was impossible to ignore. His calmness under pressure, defensive awareness, and leadership abilities made him a cornerstone of every team he played on.

“Noah was always a rock at the back,” recalls one of his former coaches. “He had a maturity well beyond his years and brought a quiet confidence to the group that everyone respected.”

The Next Step: Oakland University & NCAA Success

After a decorated youth career, Noah earned a scholarship to play NCAA Division I soccer at Oakland University in Michigan. In 2023, he helped the Golden Grizzlies capture first place in the Horizon League, proving he belonged at the top level of collegiate soccer.

“It was an amazing experience playing at the Division I level,” says Noah. “Not only did it help me grow as a player, but the trials and tribulations helped me grow as a person.”

He describes the environment at Oakland as intensely professional—one that demanded discipline, time management, and a level of accountability that will continue to serve him long after his playing days.

A Club That Opened Doors

Looking back, Noah credits Milton Magic FC for giving him the tools—and the opportunities—to reach the next level.

“Milton Magic FC offered a number of opportunities for exposure that allowed me to excel beyond the club,” he says. “We played in American tournaments, competed at nationals, and attended showcases like FTF. These were critical in getting noticed by scouts and college coaches.”

A Moment to Remember

For Noah, the defining moment of his career so far came when he received his scholarship offer from Oakland University.

“It had been a goal of mine for many years,” he says. “It made all the sacrifices, academic focus, and athletic pursuit worth it.”

Advice to the Next Generation

“As cliché as it may sound, don’t let anybody’s opinion of you determine your worth as a player,” Noah advises. “Football is a game of systems and opinions—just because one team, coach, or school doesn’t recognize your capabilities doesn’t mean another won’t.”

A Lifelong Community

Noah continues to feel the impact of the Milton Magic FC community in his life off the field as well. He now works as a soccer trainer at AthElite Lab and maintains close connections with former teammates and coaches.

“Being part of this club helped me grow a network of friends and mentors I still talk to today. It’s more than just a team—it’s a family.”

Congratulations, Noah! Your journey is a testament to the power of dedication, resilience, and believing in yourself. The entire Milton Magic FC community is proud to call you one of our own.
