Milton Magic FC’s Youth Development Program (YDP) delivers a comprehensive soccer training experience, with a focus on honing technical skills, tactical understanding of the game, and overall player development. Experienced and Licensed coaches through the Canadian Soccer Association with playing experience offer instruction and guidance in a positive and supportive environment.
Tailored for players in the U14 to U18 age groups, YDP provides advanced training sessions aimed at enhancing players’ technical abilities under increased pressure, quick decision-making skills, and more in-depth game understanding on both sides of the ball (Attacking and Defending). Our age-specific curriculum is specifically designed to cater to the unique needs of players at different age levels, ensuring a continuous progression of skills against like-minded opponents.
The program seamlessly combines individual skill training with team-based activities, placing a strong emphasis on the importance of teamwork and collaboration. Participants engage in regular practice sessions 3x/week and have opportunities to apply their skills in competitive games against other clubs not only in the region of Peel Halton but through the Golden Horseshoe and the Greater Toronto Area based on the league in Ontario.
Access to the Town of Milton’s first-class training and game facilities on grass and turf further elevates the overall experience for YDP participants. Milton Magic FC continues to work in partnership with the Town of Milton to provide facilities that are modern and well-maintained, fostering an optimal environment for skill development and player growth.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
As an annual program with more time on the ball, YDP at Milton Magic FC requires an increased level of commitment. Players will practice three times per week, with a game on the weekend (age-dependent). The top team in each age group may train more to advance to higher levels of competition if the parents agree. The coaching staff will select various tournaments and or showcases to attend which can be in Ontario, USA or overseas. JOINING THE PROGRAM – OPEN HOUSE TRIALS
Players wishing to join the Youth Developmental Program (teams) can do so any time during the season as long as there are roster openings with each age group.
