Laws of the Game


FIFA Laws of the Game

There are 17 Laws of the Game as outlined by FIFA.  Although these fundamental laws themselves don't change, there are amendments made by FIFA from time to time.  Click on the link to view the current version of the

Additional Notes:  

1.  FIFA Law 4 - Players Equipment.

Mini Soccer Laws of the Game (U4 to U10)

Soccer is played following the 17 Laws of the Game as outlined by FIFA.  However, some of these laws have been tailored by the OSA to suit the age and maturity levels of our young players. 

Laws of the Game of Soccer   U4 to U7 U8 to U10 
 Law 1: The Field of Play  Field Markings  Field Markings
 Law 2: The Ball  Size 3  Size 4
 Law 3: The Number of Players  Minimum 5 players to start the game.
 Maximum 7 players on the field including goalie.
 Number of players must be the same on both teams.

 If there are less than 5 players, game must be  forfeited.
 Minimum 5 players to start the game.
 Maximum 7 players on the field including goalie.
 Number of players must be the same on both teams.

 If there are less than 5 players, game must be forfeited.
 Law 4: The Player's Equipment  Unchanged  Unchanged
 Law 5:  The Referee  No referees for U4 & U5.  Unchanged
 Law 6:  The Assistant Referee  No assistant referees.  No assistant referees. 
 Law 7:  The Duration of the Match  U5 - 30 minute game
